Venue: Jiennagoahti, Bergen, an artist-run space in Bergen dedicated to contemporary art and Sámi perspectives.

Inspired by the presence of melanistic frogs in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, this sound installation explores adaptation, resilience, and transformation in conditions of ecological and social collapse. The dark pigmentation of these amphibians becomes a metaphor for forms of survival that emerge through difference rather than assimilation.

The work reflects on the "zero zone" as both the territory of Chernobyl and a broader condition where existing systems break down, allowing new forms of life, perception, and identity to emerge.

The installation consists of a ceramic sonic sculpture and a sound composition. The sculpture invites visitors to hold and activate it, creating a participatory ritual of resonance, while the soundscape unfolds slowly, incorporating sounds from the surrounding space into an evolving listening experience. Rather than reaching a conclusion, the composition remains in continuous transformation, encouraging attentive listening and an expanded sense of time.
