Caribbena reveries

Exhibition text.

As I walk, memories, presences, and callings walk with me. Times intertwine and germinate within me: the glow of midday, my grandmother’s blessing, the earth beneath my feet, the sun blinding my eyes, the mystery of shadows suspended within the dense green of dusk. Warm salted waters.

Within this everyday dance lives an erotic element, an untamed gesture. Not from nostalgia, but from a reimagining of what came before me — tracing narratives where the magical and the real intertwine through ritual and living poetry.

The work inhabits the space between landscape, body, and memory, where nature, mythical beings, and ritual allegories materialise through ceramics in different scales and narratives. Each piece occupies a distinct place within the installation, creating relationships between presence, symbol, and corporeality.

The presence of other materials, such as textiles and sculptures with sonic potential, expands the exhibition’s imaginary into a sensory and spiritual experience, where the visual and the symbolic become intertwined.
